About the SharePoint Contender

Hello and welcome to the SharePoint Contender, Michael Hinckley.
Michael has spent the past ten plus years involved in the project management and development of software collaboration projects. Most notably his work has centered on large institutions’ use and implementation of the SharePoint 2007/MOSS 2007 platform to successfully define, implement and resolve business challenges with social media.

Currently he is the unique position to drive SharePoint innovation at a global enterprise level at Citibank as well as founder of SharePoint Contender, training and consulting endeavor. Possessing complimenting skills sets and year’s experiences in project management, business analysis, public speaking, relationship management and consulting has allowed him engagements with many diverse government organizations, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profit organizations globally.

Michael is also a contributing author to such popular sites such as EndUserSharePoint.com and was the coordinator for SharePoint Saturday Tampa. His presence in the SharePoint community has also led to various requests for speaking and contributing author engagements for publications like the forthcoming SharePoint 2010 Unleashed.

When he is not tinkering under MOSS sites hoods and bothering the IT department regarding admin level permissions you’ll find him either at home relaxing with his wonderful wife and three children or boxing in an effort to improve his “sweet science” despite the science of gravity and advancing years.
